Faculty Response

While it is true that there are faculty members who have expressed support of the Pathways plan, none who have publicly supported the plan have addressed the important issues of process, governance, or data collection and analysis. Those issues must be resolved by the faculty if their important professional responsibility of shared governance is to be respected.

Loyola adminstrators have been quick to state their false assumptions that the only opposition to the plan comes from faculty who have a "sour grapes" perspective and once those who have been terminated are removed, the faculty will move on. Rest assured that this will not be the case. These are core issues that transcend this immediate situation.

Recognized organizations of faculty -- the University Senate and the College of Arts and Sciences -- have met and voted to reject the process, the plan and the administrators who produced it. The documents produced by those organizations are available here.
